Client – Male
Age- 40 years
Profession- Business owner

Physical complaint- Fatigue

Lifestyle- Non-smoker, relatively simple and clean food, sedentary lifestyle, good in managing stress and high workload, daily consumption of alcohol

Query- Non-smoker and food is relatively clean so not sure what to correct in diet. No-time for exercise due to work load. Not willing to quit alcohol. Sleep and stress is a part of life.

Doctor has recommended lifestyle changes and medication for cholesterol is not required at this stage.

What all needs to be corrected in this situation?

First step: Analyse blood work

1. Cholesterol levels – 212.1 (desirable is under 200 mg/dl)
Triglycerides 187.1 (desirable is under 175 mg/dl)

2. Diabetes levels
– Blood Sugar 92.5 (desirable under 200 mg/dl)
– HbA1c- 5.5 (non-diabetic level, under 5.7)

At first glance one would think, report is not too bad. It looks normal considering age, stress level of running a company, sedentary lifestyle etc. A few tweaks should do the work.

Unfortunately, at this stage most clients miss taking action.

But I emphasis on root cause to prevent further damage.

Second step: Let’s dig deeper in the report keeping lifestyle in mind.

SGPT levels – 55.1 ( desirable levels between 5-45 U/L)
-a classic sign of liver inflammation or liver damage.

Liver is our busiest organ when we talk about various important functions of our body. Blood sugar, cholesterol management, absorption of nutrients etc will hamper due to liver inflammation or damage.

It’s utmost important to fix this to prevent further damage and chronic ailments. Chances of recovery is also high at this level.

Suggested lifestyle changes:
The complaint of “fatigue” combined with higher Sgpt levels, indicate, it’s time to start taking preventing steps focusing on “liver detox and alcohol management” for prevention of chronic ailments.

Guided approach for 3 months is required in this case.
